June 27: Still here - Secret World coming

Not much has really happened regarding Dreamfall. I believe Dreamfall and/or The Longest Journey are available on Steam now. Also Funcom announced The Secret World, a MMORPG in a futuristic setting. It is planned to be out in 2009. So I will take a wild guess and say we should hear something about Dreamfall Chapters before the end of 2007, and see the first 'chapter' somewhere in 2009. Don't you love vague predictions? :)

April 16 2007: SpreadDreamfall gets an update

This site has been gathering dust for quite a while now. Sorry for that! :( . I am going to clean it up and try to post some new things once in a while. I guess the site did fail splendidly in its mission of being the freshest, best source of Dreamfall news and information :|. Hopefully in the meantime this website will have helped people with some of their problems, finding some nice wallpapers and art stuff (thank you to everyone who sent their files!) or with finding their way to this great game.

Since I do not have anything in particular, I will try to give a quick summary of what has happened in the past months. An excellent way to keep up with The Longest Journey news, is by going to www.ragnartornquist.com , the official blog of TLJ's and Dreamfall's designer. Or go to one of the fansites listed in the "links" section on the right side of each page.

Dreamfall has gotten mixed reviews and I don't think I am wrong when I am saying it is not the succes Funcom hoped it would be. But, it did sell pretty good. And it does seem as if the mainstream press is a bit out of touch with the players for this title. Metacritic's average score for critis: 75/100. The average score from the fans: 89/100. Don't forget to go there and vote!

Ragnar Tornquist has announced that there are plans to continue the story of The Longest Journey universe in episodic format (e.g. like Sam&Max). So heads up: we are going to have more TLJ :)

In other news, Funcom is going to launch the beta for its game Age of Conan pretty soon.

August 22: new posters, Dreamfall BOX PAL version and an announcement about the Spreaddreamfall website

There are two new posters available for download in our downloads section, kindly contributed by Eloy.

Also, for those that don't know it yet, the Dreamfall XBOX PAL version is out, see the relevant blog entry on Ragnartornquist.com.

In more serious news, I don't have the time and resources any longer to maintain this website… This all has to do with a project (a website) I am working on, hosted at the same server. This website is going live soon and as a result, Spreaddreamfall has to leave. After I finish my daily job, I work on this project, which also means there is no time left to maintain Dreamfall, which is why updates last two months have been slow. Sorry about that.

If there are volunteers to take over the Spreaddreamfall website: have a look at the requirements (more like advice really):

I will take the site offline at the end of the month. If there are any takers, send me an e-mail me at Darkelve@myway.com. I will keep all of the files of the website, so you can still contact me after this period. But come end August, it has to go offline :| .

If someone surfs to spreaddreamfall.ducaet.be, I will provide a page with a (http) redirect towards the new domain name.

It has been great fun, and you are all tremendously nice/fun/cool people, but this is it for me. I hope this website has had at least some impact on people and -hopefully- sales.

I also want to thank CosmicD and Mono for their advice and help and more in specific for the chat application. And I'd like to thank all of the other people that contributed in any way. Even if I forgot to mention you ;)

If you haven't bought Dreamfall yet, buy it. There's no other game like it.

Signing off,

Darkelve

July 5: webmaster back alive & new wallpaper

It's been a while since the last update, for which I sincerely apologize. Real life got in the way, although real life should never be used as an excuse ;). Also, we got a great new 1280*1024-sized wallpaper under the downloads section, featuring Zoë in full underwear in the Winter. This wallpaper was contributed by Taekwan Kim.

May 24: Spreaddreamfall's Dreamfall review complete

We are proud to announce our very own Dreamfall review!

May 9: Funcom online store started the shipping process

On Monday, May 8, I received my pre-order ('normal' version) from the Funcom online store: a box containing three six CD's and a manual, plus the three pieces of extra artwork you receive when you pre-ordered. For those interested: yes, the artwork is about the size of the DVD box. If you live in Europe and ordered from the Funcom online store, you can expect to receive your package somewhere this week. :)

May 4: Orders from Funcom online store (Asknet) finally have started shipping.

Today I got a confirmation in my mail that my order had been shipped. Whatever problems there may have been, it seems they are resolved now seeing as a couple of other persons also got this message. So those who ordered Dreamfall from the online store can expect to receive it within the coming 2 weeks, depending on where you live.

April 28: the rumors of Funcom working on a Dreamfall sequel are not true

Because of some miscommunication, a couple of publications have announced Funcom would already be working on a sequel for Dreamfall. However, according to Ragnar himself these rumors are not true. All the more reason to continue spreading Dreamfall!

April 28: SpreadDreamfall mentioned on Ragnar's blog!

The man himself has mentioned us on his blog. Thank you Ragnar!

April 26: Dreamfall delayed by a bit

According to a couple of posters at Ragnar's blog, the game is delayed a little for Scandinavia, Europe, and Australia. This will reportedly also affect orders from the Funcom online store. The Scandinavian release is now to be expected around April 29, the European release around May 13. The Australian release date will also be delayed. Be sure to contact your store before rushing out to buy it, and ask them to set a copy aside for you if/when they have copies Dreamfall in stock.

April 24: news for those who ordered from Funcom online store

red light district

I just got an e-mail from Asknet. For those of you who -like me- ordered from the Funcom/Asknet store, Asknet is saying to expect a delivery period of 7 up to 20 days. I am guessing they counted weekends in that. So those of us who (pre-)ordered from the Funcom online store *might* have to wait another week or so.

April 21: reviews of Dreamfall out!

Reviews of Dreamfall have started pouring in.

Also, a number of fans have already been playing the game and giving feedback on Ragnar's blog.
